Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria, Deputy Inspector General of Government (IGG), recently lectured prison officers on the IGG’s role in promoting ethical leadership, accountability and transparency.
Addressing the third intake of the Prisons Intermediate Command and Staff Course at Prisons Academy and Training School, Dr. Okiria focused on the Leadership Act, 2002, highlighting its key provisions and their importance in preventing corruption.
She emphasized the IGG’s mandate to enforce the Leadership Code and investigate misconduct, explaining the mechanisms available, including investigations and asset declarations

House has amended its Rules of Procedure to increase membership of Standing Committees to a minimum of 20 and maximum of 40 members

Rule 195 has been amended to provide clarity on what constitutes “misconduct” in the removal of committee chairperson or deputy
