The Fall of UPC: How Amongi Trapped Akena and Hijacked Lango’s Political Destiny.

By James Alele-Acuda — Critical Thinker and NRM Loyalist

Why is Jimmy Akena suddenly calling for a special UPC delegates meeting in Kamdini, Oyam District? The answer is simple — Akena has lost his voice. And we all know this is Amongi’s hand at work.

Akena has been trapped and caged by his own wife, Hon. Betty Amongi, until the collapse of UPC became inevitable. Let’s not be fooled.

Historically, UPC’s headquarters in Lango — “Abila me UPC” — have always been in:

1. Otuke and Alebtong,

2. Dokolo — home of the late Hon. Adoko Nekyon, the first Minister in Obote’s government.

3. Akokoro Obote ancestral home

Oyam has never been UPC headquarters. So why Kamdini? Because it’s Amongi’s territory — home to her private empire, including her Northern Gateway Hotel. This isn’t about party unity — it’s about consolidating her personal control.

Amongi misled Jimmy Akena into declaring a 2026 presidential bid, fully aware that he lacks legitimacy. Why? To get rid of Akena from Lira City — clear the path, and then target Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero next. Amongi’s ultimate ambition is clear: make Lango and the entire Northern Region revolve around her name. Dr Aceng Ocero is her biggest threat, and lango is not aware.

But Uganda is fed up — everything Amongi , everywhere Amongi. And what do we have to show for it? Absolutely nothing.

Did you know Amongi is benefiting massively from the “cultural leaders’ vehicles” initiative?

Did you know she renovated palaces across Uganda — yet not one stands in Lango with her name on it?

Did you know Amongi heads one of Uganda’s richest ministries — Gender, Labour, and Social Development — but there is no tangible development in Lango under her leadership?

Except, of course, her personal hotel in Kamdini.

Lango is now awake. And we must stop Amongi’s plan to eliminate Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, a proven leader and servant of the people.

I call upon UPC delegates and the people of Lango to question Akena:
Why Kamdini?
Why now?
What forces are behind this?
This is not ordinary — Akena is under spiritual and political bondage.
Let’s pray for him — he used to carry the heart of his father, Dr. Apollo Milton Obote. But now, under Amongi’s shadow, he roars like a trapped lion — full of anger, confusion, and desperation.

Amongi has turned UPC into a family business, crowned herself First Lady of UPC, and faked royal lineage — falsely claiming to descend from the revered Rwot Owiny Akullo This angered his family, and they demanded an apology. But even that hasn’t stopped her.

Amongi wants to be everything to everyone — Minister, First Lady, Queen of Culture, Political Queenpin — but in truth, she is a businesswoman masquerading as a leader.

Lira City must rise and stop her.
Lango must rise and restore its dignity.
UPC must be set free from confusion.

UPC Is a Political Graveyard

We all know Jimmy Akena’s history. He says he’ll still run for president in 2026 — yet he publicly accepted the court ruling that nullified his leadership. So let’s be real: who is he fooling?

The court ruling is final. It is supreme. Uganda is not a kangaroo country — even if UPC now operates like one.

Akena abandoned a real campaign in 2021 and ran into Museveni’s wallet. That was the end of any illusion that UPC stood for something independent or credible.

It’s time to abandon UPC and stand with President Museveni for a better Uganda.

Akena’s so-called presidency was never legitimate — not in 2015, not in 2020, and certainly not in 2025. The courts made that clear. But he clung to power like a tenant refusing to vacate a condemned house.

Now the roof has collapsed — and he still wants to host a party.

There is a saying in lango that (REC PE MOL ABONGO ATEL WIE)
Akena’s reign ends where it began: in confusion and illegitimacy.

Betty Amongi and Akena turned UPC into a family business. Let’s be clear — Obote, despite his flaws, was never this petty or self-serving.

So where is the space for Mr. Engena Akenas brother or the other Obote siblings? Was Engena’s rejection of Amongi’s offer a spiritual revelation? Did God show him the end from the beginning? Engena is deeply prayerful — perhaps he saw something the rest of us missed.

Whatever the case, it’s clear: UPC has collapsed.

The future lies with NRM, with order, development, and vision.
Hard talk is wealth.
Let’s stop pretending.
