Court orders Dr. Spire Ssentongo to stop bad-mouthing KIU
The High Court of Uganda at Kampala (Civil Division) has issued an interim injunction against Dr. Jimmy Spire Ssentongo, barring him from publishing any new information damaging to Kampala International University (KIU). The order restrains the academic turned blogger and any person acting on his instruction from posting or circulating such content on social or print media. The interim order will remain in effect until the court delivers its ruling on the main application for a temporary injunction, scheduled for December 16, 2025.

Over 6,800 Ugandans to be enrolled in civil service by end of 2025
The government has approved the recruitment of 6,853 new civil servants by Dec. 30, 2025 to boost service delivery across 130 government entities. The recruitment will be implemented with a total wage bill of Shs124.8 billion. Public Service Minister , Wilson Muruli Mukasa, stated that priority is given to heads of departments, particularly in local governments, to strengthen policy implementation and supervision of government programmes. Other priority areas for staffing include primary schools, primary health care, agricultural extension, and positions for Parish Chiefs and Town Agents.

Gov’t releases UGX 2.68 Billion to clear Kabale salary arrears
The Ministry of Finance has disbursed UGX 2.68 billion to Kabale District to settle outstanding salary arrears for its civil servants from May and June 2024. MPIGI: NUP foot soldier caught red handed stealing goats in Kayabwe
Police in Mpigi have taken into custody Kawesa Jowel, a known NUP foot soldier based in Nkozi, for operating a livestock theft ring targeting communities in Kayabwe Town Council. Kawesa was apprehended at Nakibanga B Cell, Kayabwe TC around 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2025, while attempting to retrieve a hidden goat from Nundu Cell. His alleged accomplice, Kasibante Frank of Kyewanise, Kituntu Subcounty, managed to escape and remains at large. Kawesa confessed to stealing animals and tying them in remote bushes, returning the next day to collect them unnoticed.

NAKASONGOLA: Weed blockage threatens Bulwandi Bridge and farmland
A severe weed blockage on the Sezibwa River is causing alarm in Nakasongola district, threatening the Mugongo-Kayunga to Bulwandi bridge and destroying local agriculture.
The accumulated moving weed has clogged the river swamp on the Mugongo-Kayunga side, resulting in rising water levels that are now flooding and damaging residents’ gardens and livelihoods. The flooding has increased risk to the structural integrity of the vital road and bridge.

KENYA: Man who defrauded Insurance Firm asks for a job as repayment
A 29-year-old Kenyan man who admitted to defrauding an insurance company of Ksh 683,290 has proposed a job offer as his form of restitution. Ian Njuguna pleaded guilty to the charges on Nov. 12, 2025, telling the court he had previously discussed with investigators the possibility of volunteering for APA Medical Insurance to repay the money. He argued that his ability to exploit the system demonstrated security loopholes he could help fix. The accused admitted to submitting multiple false medical claims and supporting documents between 2024 and 2025.
